      How to fight

Move with the left stick. Push to its outer edge to sprint.
Light → light → heavy for a combo (the heavy comes out faster). Hold Heavy (about a second) to charge it: the raised blade glows and shrugs off lights, and the release hits half again as hard and breaks a guard. A quick press is the plain heavy. Thrust (T on a keyboard) lunges furthest and fastest but never opens a guard.
Right thumb: the round cluster — Slash (alternates sides), Stab and Heavy above (hold either to load; hold Heavy to charge), Kick inside, Roll and Guard below. A light straight out of a step or roll is quick too. After a parry: Slash cuts (24), Stab thrusts (24), Heavy smashes (30). A guard takes a plain heavy for chip and 40 stamina; only a charged heavy, a riposte, a kick or an empty stamina bar breaks it.
Guard has five sides: your thumb still on Guard covers a stab; slide it left, right, up (overhead) or down (kick) to cover that side — a right cut arrives on your left. Hold guard to block (raise it just in time and it costs half), then Heavy straight out of the block for a fast, armoured counter; tap guard just before impact to parry. Tap guard early in your own swing to feint it. Attacks come straight out of a guard.
Tap Roll to step back (no invulnerability); hold it to roll. Kick at close range to open a guard (25 stamina).
Sword wounds reduce stamina recovery 20% for 4 seconds. Rematch clears them.
